The 4H Youth Fair in Tompkins County continues with a full day of events today.
Free and open to the public, the fair provides family entertainment, and is a chance for 4H participants to share the projects they’ve been working on for the last year. Organizer Brenda Carpenter says the fair serves as a backdrop for children to learn important life skills, and often times it’s not about winning a blue ribbon, but about giving children recognition that can lead to personal growth.
Among Friday's events include chilli cook0off at 5:00 and a 4H talent show at 7:00. The fair continues through Saturday evening and is located on Ithaca’s 4H Acres, just off Route 13 on Lower Creek Road.
Republican candidate for governor Carl Paladino says cutting taxes, reducing spending, and reforming a broken Medicaid system will be among his priorities if he’s sent to Albany.
Groton residents want their next school Superintendent to be a trustworthy listener, with teaching experience, who has served in a small school district.
Saturday marks the 9th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks, and in remembrance of those who lost their lives, a group of Cornell and Ithaca College students has planned a tribute.
